Spotify play count checker

Paste a Spotify track, album or artist link and get the exact play count Spotify reports, with the time it was read. No sign-up, no key.

In Spotify: Share → Copy Song Link (or Copy Album / Artist Link). A spotify: URI or a bare 22-character id works too; a bare id is read as a track.

For developers

Need counts for a thousand tracks?

GET /partner/tracks/count returns the lifetime play count, name, artists and release date of up to 50 tracks per call. A key covers it; the Apify actor does it from a list of links with no code.

What the number is

Spotify's own lifetime play count for the track: every stream since release, as the API returns it. For an album the checker sums the tracks that have a count; for an artist it lists their ten most-played tracks.

Spotify reports no exact count below 1,000 plays: the API answers 0 for those, and the checker says "fewer than 1,000" rather than 0. A count Spotify does not report at all says "not reported".

A track this site already tracks is answered from its daily reading, dated; one it does not is read when you check it and joins the tracks it ranks.

FAQ

How do I find a song's play count on Spotify?

Spotify's desktop app shows a play count beside each track on an album page and in an artist's Popular list. For the exact number of any one track, copy its link (Share → Copy Song Link) and paste it into this checker.

Why does a track show fewer than 1,000 plays?

Spotify reports no exact count below 1,000 plays. The API returns 0 for those tracks, and this checker says fewer than 1,000 rather than printing a 0 that would read as never played.

How current is the play count?

Each result says when it was read, to the minute, in UTC. A track this site already tracks is re-read about once a day; one it does not track is read when you check it.

Can I check play counts for many tracks at once?

Yes. Through the API, GET /partner/tracks/count takes up to 50 track ids per call. Without code, the Spotify play count actor on Apify reads a list of links and exports the counts to CSV or JSON.
